Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic has teamed up with former Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen as part of an investment group that has acquired a stake in French Ligue 2 club Le Mans, Afrosport reports.

The club confirmed the development on Friday but did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. The trio join other new investors, including Latin American sports investment firm OutField and Georgios Frangulis, founder and CEO of acai brand OakBerry.

“The uniqueness of this fund also lies in its contribution from high-level athletes,” Le Mans president Thierry Gomez said in a statement. “Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen will be part of the adventure.”

Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, is one of the most decorated players in men’s tennis history. The 38-year-old has won three Roland Garros titles and 101 matches in France, making him a fan favourite in the country.

Massa enjoyed a distinguished 15-year career in Formula 1, recording 11 race wins and 41 podium finishes. Magnussen, meanwhile, made 185 starts in the sport and earned a single podium in his decade-long F1 career.

Le Mans earned promotion to Ligue 2 last season after five years in the third tier and will kick off their 2025–26 campaign away to Guingamp on 9 August.
