Chelsea dealt blow as Palmer sidelined until November

Chelsea star Cole Palmer is set to be sidelined until November as he continues to recover from a groin injury that has troubled him since pre-season, Afrosport reports.

The 23-year-old picked up the issue during Chelsea’s shortened summer camp after their Club World Cup triumph in July and has since been restricted to just four appearances this season.

Palmer was forced off early in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on 20 September, with manager Enzo Maresca confirming the club would give him time to fully recover after the international break.

He is expected to sit out Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Sunderland, and Wolves.

Palmer was also left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for their friendly against Wales on Thursday and World Cup qualifier against Latvia next Tuesday.
