Chelsea assistant coach Willy Caballero has called for Moises Caicedo to be specially looked after following his performance in Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League win over reigning champions Liverpool, Afrosport reports.
The Ecuadorian midfielder put in a combative performance that saw him excel everywhere on the pitch and set things in motion with a thunderbolt strike in the 14th minute.
Caicedo’s performance drew a lot of praise from fans and pundits, and Caballero, who handled media duties for head coach Enzo Maresca, who received two yellow cards in the game, stressed on the need to look after him and midfielder partner Enzo Fernandez having played a lot of games since last season.
“About Moi, what else can we say? He has played a lot of games with the Club World Cup and with the national team, so we need to manage him sometimes as we want him to arrive to matches feeling well,” he said.
“Against Liverpool, he did, once again, a great job and had a great game. Also, he scored a fantastic goal that gave us an opportunity to manage the game a little bit more.”

Caballero added: “We need to keep an eye on him because all the players who played constantly from [the start of] last season are living with some things, which is why we think about Moi and Enzo (Fernandez). Sometimes, they need to do partial team training because we want them to arrive well to the game.”
The result was Chelsea’s first win in the league since a 2-0 victory over Fulham on August 30 and has moved them up to seventh on the table.
