Nigeria’s Super Eagles B were held to another draw by Zanzibar in their final warm-up friendly ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), Afrosport reports.
The Eric Chelle-led side settled for a 2-2 stalemate against Zanzibar on Thursday, just three days after playing out a goalless draw with the same opposition.
Nigeria took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break, with goals from Nasarawa United striker Anas Yusuf and Adedayo Olamilekan of Remo Stars.
The hosts, however, drew level in the second half, and Chelle handed game time to every member of his 23-man squad.
The Super Eagles B will now turn their attention to the CHAN tournament, which will take place from 2–30 August in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. They are drawn in Group D alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.
The Nigerian contingent is expected to move into their official accommodation next before their opening game against Senegal at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar on 5 August.
