CAF Technical Study Group unveils 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League Best XI

The Technical Study Group (TSG) of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday, revealed the best-performing 11 players at the just-concluded CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco, Afrosport reports.

According to CAF, the TSG consists of several African football experts, including coaches, analysts, and technical advisors, with the Best XI selected based on their performances throughout the competition.

The tournament’s best performing XI includes four players from bronze medallists FC Masar, four from champions TP Mazembe, two from losing finalist AS FAR, and one from fourth-placed Edo Queens.

Masar’s goalkeeper Habiba El Taher, who won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, is in goal in the CAF Women’s Champions League Best XI.

The defence includes the sturdy centre-back pairing of Masar’s Shadia Nankya and Aisha Nantongo, while Edo Queens’ Miracle Usani gets the nudge in the right full back position, with Vukulu Belange Nzumba of TP Mazembe on the left.

Belange’s teammate Marline Yav anchors the midfield, and she is flanked by Masar’s Sandrine Nyonkuru and AS FAR’s Sanaa Mssoudy, who was named the best player of the tournament.

The three-player forward line is made up of tournament’s top scorer Doha El Madani (AS FAR), on the right, with TP Mazembe’s Lacho Marta on the left, and Merveille Kanjinga spearheading the attack.
