Victor Boniface is doubtful for Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash with Heidenheim on Saturday afternoon, Afrosport reports.
According to German publication Bild, Boniface did not train with the reigning Bundesliga but champions on Thursday, amid speculation that he returned from international duty with Nigeria injured.
He reportedly sustained a muscle tendon injury in his right abductor while on duty with the Super Eagles during the final round of the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers.
The Nigerian International has scored eight times in 15 appearances for the Leverkusen this term.
Die Werkself have not been at the same heights as they were in the Bundesliga last season and currently occupy fourth spot, nine points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
