Athletic Bilbao will be without Nico Williams for an extended period after the Spain winger sustained a muscle injury, Afrosport reports.
The 23-year-old, of Ghanaian heritage, was forced off after just 43 minutes during Spain’s clash with Turkey in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.
Bilbao have released an update on Williams, revealing that he has suffered a moderate injury to his left adductor. The Spanish club provided no definitive timeline for his return, but such injuries typically require a lay-off of around two to three weeks.

His injury comes at a difficult time for the Basque club, who are entering one of their busiest spells of the campaign, with seven matches across the next 21 days.
Williams will miss this weekend’s La Liga fixture at home to Alaves at San Mames, as well as their Champions League opener against Arsenal on Tuesday, 16 September.
