Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham has thrown his support behind Jim Radcliffe in bringing success to the club, Afrosport reports.
The British billionaire bought a minority stake in the Red Devils last year to handle football operations and has already made his mark by investing in club infrastructure and personnel while also taking up some cost-cutting measures.
Beckham, speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, is hopeful that the glory days of old will be back after more than a decade of decline.
“I really like Jim [Ratcliife]. I’ve met him a few times over the years with a few mutual friends and I think that he’s a fan and obviously he’s a great businessman as well, one of the best and one of the biggest,” the Inter Miami co-owner said.
“But I think more importantly the fans see that he cares, and I think that’s a big part of it. I think obviously the fans had lost faith with the leadership over the years and obviously he really cares about what he wants to do and what he wants to create.
“So, hopefully, things will change but these things take time. I think we have been quite patient as United fans over the years but we want those good old days back. We want those days back and the sooner the better.”
Man United have not started the 2024-25 Premier League season particularly well, with just two wins from seven games and five goals scored, which sees them languish in 14th spot on the log.
