Germany international Jonathan Tah has secured a move to Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, Afrosport reports.
Tah, who revealed last September that he would not sign a contract extension at Leverkusen, has signed a four-year contract with Bayern until 2029.
“I’m very happy to be at Bayern,” said the German. “I want to take on responsibility here and work hard every day so that we’re successful as a team and win lots of trophies together.”

The 29-year-old joined Leverkusen from Hamburg in 2015, winning the Bundesliga and German Cup during their unbeaten campaign in the 2023-24 season as well as the German Super Cup in August 2024.
“It’s no secret that we’ve had Jonathan Tah on our radar for a long time,” said Bayern director for sport Max Eberl.
“We appreciate his quality: he’s a character who takes on responsibility. Jonathan had a lot of offers but chose FC Bayern, which pleases us very much.”
Tah has made 35 appearances for Germany after making his international debut in 2016 and has been included in their team to face Portugal in the Nations League semi-finals on Wednesday, 4 June.
He would wear the number four jersey during his time at Allianz Arena, with Bayern set to play Auckland City in their first Group C game in the 2025 Club World Cup.
Vincent Kompany’s side won the 2024-25 Bundesliga title, having finished 13 points above second-placed Leverkusen.
