Arnault family seek Klopp expertise in transforming Paris FC

Antoine Arnault is hoping to utilise the expertise of former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Arnault family takeover of Ligue 2 side Paris FC, Afrosport reports.

The world’s second richest family and owners of luxurious fashion conglomerate LVMH plans to own an initial 52% stake of the French capital outfit with energy drink giant Red Bull owning a minority 11% stake.

Klopp is set to become Red Bull’s head of global soccer in January, overseeing the network of established clubs in Germany (RB Leipzig), Austria (RB Salzburg), Brazil (RB Bragantino) and the United States (New York Red Bulls), and could have involvement in Paris FC due to Red Bull’s minority stage.

“I’ve spoken with Klopp several times, and he’s very, very excited about working with us,” Antoine said per the Associated Press.

“We’re not coming in alone. Red Bull is by our side because we know what we’re good at and what we’re not. We have management skills, but none in football operations.”

Arnault also highlighted plans to leverage on Red Bull’s renowned scouting prowess to tap into the Paris’ pool of football talent.

“Paris has probably the best talent pool in the world, rivaling only Sao Paulo,” he added. “Red Bull’s revolutionary data tools will greatly aid our scouting efforts.”

Antoine Arnault declined to reveal how much the Arnault family would put into the club but media reports suggests between 100 to 200 million euros could be pumped into the club should Ligue 1 promotion be secured at the end of the season.
