Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu were on target as Southampton defeated Ipswich Town 2-1 at Portman Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, Afrosport reports.
The Saints were on a run of six consecutive defeats with manager Ivan Juric still searching for his first point since taking over from Russell Martin.
That all changed when Aribo put them ahead in the 21st minute with a first-time shot.
Though Ipswich equalised through talisman Liam Delap, Southampton were able to go back ahead thanks to Onuachu who tapped in from close range for his second goal for the club after netting his first in the 3-2 defeat at Nottingham Forest last week.
The result was a first win for Southampton in three months with their last win coming in a 1-0 home victory over Everton on November 2.
It was also only their second league win of the season and first on the road and sees them still rooted to the bottom of the club, eight points away from safety.
