Ansu Fati has completed his loan move to French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco from Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona with the option to buy him for €11 million, Afrosport reports.

The 22-year-old spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 27 competitive games.

He returned to his parent club for the 2024-25 campaign but only made 11 appearances and played a total of 298 minutes.

“AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of Ansu Fati. The 22-year-old Spanish international striker joins on loan from FC Barcelona for the 2025/2026 season, with an option to buy,” read a club statement.

Fati has played 123 games for Barcelona, scoring 29 goals, and providing eight assists, winning two La Liga titles.

The Equatorial-Guinea born winger has also been capped 10 times by Spain, scoring twice and featured at the UEFA Nations League in 2020 and 2023 and also the 2022 FIFA World Cup.


He is Monaco’s third summer signing, following Eric Dier and Paul Pogba on free transfers.

The Monegasque outfit are strengthening their squad as they prepare to participate in league phase of the UEFA Champions League for the 2025-26 season.
