Amusan, Nathaniel shine at Prefontaine Classic in Eugene 

Impressive Amusan wins 100mH event at Ostrava Golden Spike meet 

The Nigerian duo of Tobi Amusan and Ezekiel Nathaniel starred at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on Saturday, Afrosport reports.

Amusan, up against a stacked setup in the women’s 100m hurdles at Hayward Field, finished second in a time of 12.38 seconds.

The 28-year-old continues to impress in the 2025 Diamond League and build momentum towards the World Athletics Championships later this year in Tokyo.

Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent won the race in 12.32s, while Olympic silver medallist Kendra Harrison finished third in 12.50s.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel, who was making his professional debut, finished third in the men’s 400m hurdles.

He ran a time of 47.88s, settling for a spot behind Brazil’s Alison Dos Santos, who clocked a season’s best 46.65s, while Olympic champion Rai Benjamin crossed the line in second place in a time of 46.71s.

Elsewhere, Nigerian sprinter Rosemary Chukwuma ran 11.09s to finish fourth in the women’s 100m invitational.

Jacious Sears led an all-American podium, clocking a season’s best 10.85s to win the race. Aleia Hobbs came in second in 10.90s, while Thelma Davies was 3rd in 10.96s.
