MotoGP: Marquez urges fans not to blame Bezzecchi after Indonesian GP crash

Glasner gives no excuse for the end of Crystal Palace’s unbeaten run

Marc Marquez has urged his fans not to have hard feeling towards Marco Bezzecchi following their crash at the Indonesian MotoGP on Sunday, Afrosport reports.

Aprilia rider Bezzecchi had a poor start from pole position and in a bid to make up for lost ground, ran into the back of Marquez’s Ducati on the opening lap.

The newly-crowned world champion was thrown to the ground as a result before tumbling heavily through the gravel while Bezzecchi also fell after running into the gravel.

He immediately went to check on Marquez, who eventually suffered a fracture on his right shoulder exactly a week after he was crowned world champion for the sixth time at the Japanese MotoGP.

Marquez in a message on Instagram said: “Not the best way to celebrate the championship, but this is racing. Today we’ll fly to Madrid and the doctors will evaluate everything.

“Please, no hard feelings towards Marco, nobody does it on purpose.

“Thanks for all your support”

Meanwhile, Bezzecchi escaped any injury after medical checks at the hospital and was quick to apologise to Marquez for the crash. His Instagram post read: Today, I made a mistake and unfortunately I also involved Marc. I’m very sorry.

“I apologise to him and all of his team. Now is the time to fix myself. See you soon. I’m sorry.”
