Mohammed Kudus has praised the mentality of Tottenham Hotspur teammate Mathys Tel following his goal in the 2-1 win at Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday, Afrosport reports.
Ghana international Kudus set up Tel for the first goal at Elland Road before the former West Ham man netted the winner to register his first goal for the club.
Tel has not seen much game time for Spurs since making his loan move from Bayern Munich permanent in the summer and was excluded from Spurs’ Champions League squad. Kudus however hailed the Frenchman for keeping a level head in all the circumstances.

“I want to give big praise to Mathys because I think it’s been a tough month [for him], not playing, but how he carried himself, trains, he’s a top top professional, and I think you can see when he got his chance, he was there, so it shows how professional he is,” he said.
“As a player definitely it is going to be very difficult but how he comports himself, manages himself, training, he’s still young and with this mentality, it’s really going to help him go far.
“I hope this first goal he has scored will open more doors for better games ante more goals coming ahead.”
Meanwhile, Kudus reflecting on scoring his first goal for Tottenham said: “It feels really good. It’s something I’ve been working on for the past month. It feels really great. It opens doors for more to come.”
First Spurs goal. Trademark celebration.
