Rwanda head coach Adel Amrouche says his team will not go down without a fight when they face South Africa in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, Afrosport reports.
The Amavubi saw their qualification hopes end after a 1-0 defeat to Benin Republic in Kigali last Friday, but Amrouche insists his players remain motivated to finish on a high.
“We are disappointed, yes, because we wanted to win that match,” the 57-year-old told reporters ahead of the clash with Bafana Bafana.
“But this is football. What matters now is our reaction — and I can assure you; we will not go down easily against South Africa. We will fight for every ball.”
The Algerian tactician also urged his players to show pride and determination in representing their country.
“It’s not over until the final whistle,” added Amrouche. “This is about dignity, identity, and the Rwandan spirit. South Africa will meet a team that refuses to give up.”
The clash takes place on Tuesday at the Mbombela Stadium, with kick-off set for 5 p.m. local time.
