The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ngum Fatou from The Gambia as referee for Friday’s 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier between Nigeria and Benin Republic in Lome, Afrosport reports.

Fatou will be assisted by Mariem Chedad and Hamedine Houleye from Mauritania, while fellow Gambian Isatou Touray has been named as fourth official. Halimatou Hamidou from Niger will serve as the match commissioner, and Martha Nyekanyeka from Malawi will act as referee assessor.

The Super Falcons are currently in camp in Lome, Togo, preparing for the first leg of the final qualifying round at the Stade de Kegue on Friday. They are expected to hold their first training session on Monday afternoon as the team fine-tune plans for the encounter.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time (4 p.m. Nigeria time), with the return leg set for Tuesday, 28 October, at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.

The aggregate winner will qualify for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco, which also serves as Africa’s qualifying tournament for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
