Super Falcons Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is feeling elated after winning the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year at the 2024 CAF awards ceremony on Monday, Afrosport reports.
Nnadozie retained her title as the best female goalkeeper in Africa after beating Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlaminito to the individual award.
The Nigeria international was celebrated in the grand ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco after the spectacular, clutch and crucial performances that she dished out for both club and country.
The 24-year-old was instrumental in Nigeria’s remarkable campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers coupled with her astonishing performance in the penalty shootout that saw her club Paris FC reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualification round.
“Last year I was here, and I am here again today and grateful to God. I want to say big thank you to the CAF President and Nigerian Football President for the work done for women’s football,” the shot-stopper declared after winning the award.
“Also thank you to my club Paris who have invested a lot in me. Also, to my coaches and teammates who all made this happen. Of course, to my family and friends who have supported me from day one.”
Perfect saves, flawless performances, and a well-deserved honor. 👏
